Summary of the profile:
The Linux Administrator is responsible for developing and maintaining Linux deployment standards, maintaining existing systems and implementing new technologies.
What you’ll do here:
- Linux server port scanning.
- Automated processes to check malware attacks, hacks
- Firewall setups.
- Setting up VHost and Apache Tuning.
- Good in writing monitoring shell scripts – Space and Databases.
- Understand the meaning of DNS, MX, and CNAME.
- Understand how mails work and their settings.
- Setting up FTP and creating users.
- Understand HTTP, SSL, and Caching.
- SVN setup, user accounts, Backups.
- Prepare resilience/backup/recover documents.
What you will need to thrive:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Ability to work well with a team in a fast paced, constantly changed environment and follow instructions from supervisors and senior colleagues.
- Dependable to be at work during assigned shifts and to complete work as expected.
- Advanced knowledge of cPanel/WHM control panel.
- Advanced knowledge of the Linux operating system.
- Knowledge of bash and Perl shell scripting.
- Advanced knowledge of Exim.
- Advanced knowledge of Apache.
- Understanding of PHP and HTML.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT Information Security or related field required; Master’s degree Desirable.
