- Title: Product Manager/Architect – API Development
- Job Location: INDIA - Chennai
Summary of the profile:
API Product Managers are responsible for managing the development of applications that interact with third-party APIs. They work closely with developers to ensure that these applications meet their needs and adhere to standards set by the API provider. API Product Managers may also be responsible for marketing their products to potential customers. This might include creating sales materials, giving presentations, or otherwise communicating the value of their product to clients.
What you’ll do here:
- Architecture and Design for high-performance, scalable API and Microservices solutions
- Lead a team of API and Integration developers in delivering large and complex API and integration solutions
- Define the API architecture for high availability, low latency, and resilience
- Lead API strategy/roadmap initiatives while aligning the strategy to the business objectives for our clients
- Includes helping establish API organizations, API development methodology and selection of API technology components including API gateway
- Design RESTful APIs with ASP NET Core SQL and No SQL Databases.
- Using API Gateway to perform routing throttling rate-limiting versioning and scaling of the APIs and microservices.
- Coding inbound and outbound policies in API Management
- Define and implement the security architecture for APIs to ensure data security at rest and in transit application security key management identity management authentication and authorization with OIDC and OAuth2 infrastructure security
- Define the log analytics and monitoring architecture
- Deploy infrastructure and API related resources through CI/CD pipeline
- Lead API design driven by business requirements
- Provide guidance to developers across the enterprise on self-service Design, implementation, testing, governance, and deployment of APIs using the latest technologies (like Kong / API
Connect / Service Mesh and Ingress / Cloud Gateways). - Implement API management using API management software (like API Connect, Kong or others) to include API proxies, mashups, rate limiting, security, analytics, monetization, and developer portals.
- Involve in setting-up and managing DevOps
- Research information on new, emerging technologies and methods in API management & Integration and provide architectural and design inputs.
- Define testing frameworks (including white box, automation, load & performance tests) for the proper APIs functioning before it is taken to UAT & Production environment.
What you will need to thrive:
- Minimum 12 years of working experience in Application Integration and API management, preferably in Marketing & Digital Transformation domain.
- 7 to 10 years of project management and technical architecture experience
- At least 4+ years of experience with an API management software or equivalent with the knowledge of API mashups, analytics, developer networks, monetization models and security
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in iPaaS / ESB
- Minimum of 4 years of development experience using Java or .NET, XML, JSP or ASP, JavaScript, or VB Script and Node.js; WSDL/SOAP/XML and REST/JSON or equivalent
- Strong knowledge in working with Web services and API technologies (REST, XML/JSON, SOAP, XSLT).
- Experience in HTTP/HTTPS protocol, web services, use of web servers, designing relational databases and SQL scripting
- Minimum of 2 years of know-how in implementing security and identity protocols such as OpenID, TLS, OAuth, SAML, SSO, PKI (encryption and key management), REST
- Know-how of Cassandra, Hadoop, or Mongo DB
Core competencies:
- Knowledge in SOA design and implementation and system integration using SOA
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Successful track record in project management, user, and vendor management and as a project lead/team lead for enterprise-scale products.
- Good grasp of SDLC principles and best practices.
- Good communication skills and extensive experience working with technical teams and management.
Education:
- MBA or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related field.
